Important Notice

The Notes (有本笔记) asks you to read these Terms of Service carefully before registering. Unless you accept all of these terms, you may not register, sign in, or use the service. By registering, signing in, or using the service, you are deemed to have accepted these terms. These terms govern the rights and obligations between you and The Notes in relation to the The Notes content platform.

1. Account Registration

You sign in to The Notes with an email address. We email you a one-time sign-in code; entering that code completes registration and sign-in. There is no password — the one-time code is your credential. Because the code is your credential, please keep it private and do not share it. By registering you agree that we may contact you at that email address when necessary, including notices about new notes and replies to your feedback.

2. Scope of Service

The service includes browsing and searching notes, reading content, short quizzes, submitting feedback, daily check-in interaction, and earning reward points by sharing invites. What we provide is a notes content service. The “Find a Note” feature searches and recommends only from The Notes’ own library of notes; recommendations are for reference only and do not constitute medical, health, legal, investment, or other professional advice — please assess the accuracy of information yourself. When you pay through Paddle (our authorized payment service provider), you are purchasing a membership tier (a one-time 30-day pass), not site credits themselves.

3. Daily Credits and Points

“Daily credits” and “reward points” are in-site usage allowances used to obtain permission to read notes and to access some interactive features. They do not constitute money or any transferable right of any kind: they cannot be exchanged for cash, withdrawn, or transferred, and they cannot be purchased separately for cash. How allowances are issued, how long they remain valid, how they are earned (daily base allowance, check-in, invite sharing, and so on), and how they are consumed are as published on the site’s Help & Information page, and we may adjust and publish those rules as operational needs require. Notes are organized into series and sections, and reading them consumes the corresponding allowance.

4. Protection of Personal Information

Respecting and protecting users’ privacy has always been a standing policy of The Notes. The information we collect for registration and use is based on your email address, and everything else is provided voluntarily by you. We do not disclose or reveal personal information to third parties without your consent, except where laws or regulations provide otherwise, where the disclosure results from your own actions, or where you have made the information public yourself. Information we collect is used for lawful purposes such as sending you notices, internal auditing and research, and managing and reviewing user information.

5. Content and Acceptable Use

You may not post content prohibited by laws, regulations, or policy (including content that endangers national security, spreads rumors, or is pornographic or violent). You are responsible for the truthfulness, legality, and accuracy of information you transmit using the service. The service currently carries no advertising. Note content is owned by The Notes or its licensors; it may not be reproduced, copied, compiled, mirrored, or used commercially without permission. You must not crack, reverse engineer, or bulk-scrape the service.

6. Account Management

Accounts belong to The Notes. After completing registration you receive a right of use; gifting, lending, renting, transferring, or selling an account is prohibited. You are responsible for keeping your account information and your one-time sign-in codes safe, and you bear responsibility for any theft or disclosure caused by inadequate safekeeping. Accounts that remain unused for a long period (for example, one year) may be reclaimed after notice.

8. Payment and Refunds

All membership tiers are a one-time purchase of a “time pass” (30 days). It ends when it expires: there is no automatic charge and no silent renewal. A 14-day refund guarantee applies; see the Refund Policy for details. Payments and billing are handled by our authorized payment service provider, Paddle. The currency and amount actually settled are those shown at checkout. Invoices and receipts are provided within the app.

9. Disclaimer and Dispute Resolution

Notes and recommendations are for reference only, and you judge for yourself the risks that using the content may involve. These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes between the parties should be resolved through friendly negotiation; if negotiation fails, the dispute is submitted to the people’s court with jurisdiction where The Notes is located (the operator is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province).
